It's sometimes hard to notice how perfectly the light falls in your life, especially when you’re in the toddler trenches.

But I promise I'll be able to see the beauty and show it to you through photos.

All you have to do is show up,

exactly as you are.

You don’t want to forget what it feels like to smell your baby’s head.

You’re worried you’ll have to apologize profusely when I show up on time and you’re still drinking coffee in your bathrobe because the kids have been up since 5 am and it’s been a long morning (truly, no worries).

Your littlest one cried almost the entire time and you’re afraid I left without having gotten any good photos at all. (It’s okay. We did. I promise).

You don’t want to get so caught up in the exhaustion and the day-to-day that you accidentally miss it, because the saying is true: the days are long but the years are short…

“On a silver platter she handed us this breakdown of the last year in the sweetest way. It feels so impossible and hard sometimes, and our photos helped us think about things in a much nicer way. It’s been a great first year but it’s been really hard at the same time. To see, ‘wow! We did it. We made it.’ It was really special.”
